My baby girl is nearing a year old. I know everyone says this, but seriously, where did the time go? With Trevor, the first year, for a variety of reasons, was LONG. I guess with the second child, there is more going on, so there is less time to pay attention to the details. Also, Mackenzie is generally a very good baby. She has two major "faults," though. First, she is unpredictable at night. She can easily sleep 11 hours, but often chooses not to. If anything is slightly bothering her, she wakes up. Sometimes this bothers me, but honestly I usually don't mind waking up with her for a few minutes and then putting her back to bed. Her second fault is that she is super attached to me. Most of the time I don't mind this either, but sometimes it gets on my nerves. Usually I am just thankful that she loves me so much =)
This has been a big month for Mackenzie:
- A few days ago her first tooth broke through! We had been waiting for this for a long time. (Of course this meant a few middle of the night wake-ups.) I am going to miss her gummy smile =)
- Her personality is turning from baby to little girl. She loves to play peek-a-boo, either with a blanket or using her hands. I don't remember Trevor ever doing this himself, so it has been really cute to watch.
- She is also becoming very vocal. I don't remember Trevor really saying much before he was one, but maybe I'm just forgetting. Mackenzie says "Mama" "Dada" "Uh-Oh" "Ni-Ni" (Night Night) "Hi" and some semblance of "Thank You."
- She is getting more steady on her feet and walking more holding on with just one hand. I have a feeling that she will take off soon!
Happy Living!
Sweet smiley Mackenzie! Happy almostyourBirthday!
