Classical Mamas Read is a book club here at Living and Learning at Home where we read through books that are especially beneficial for classically homeschooling families. We go through each book chapter by chapter and discuss them together. If you are currently reading any of these books, I would love for you to jump in a join the discussion! These are ongoing conversations for the encouragement of like-minded families!
Here are the books we have gone through in the Classical Mamas Read series.

Do you have a book you would like to go through as a part of the Classical Mamas Read series? Let me know!
I'm ready for chapter twelve with the Bluedorn read-along when you get there. I wonder if this is very clear... or missing some connecting ideas, but it's out there b/c it was bothering me terribly to not have my ideas organized for referring moms to a possible solution. http://expeditionswithg3.blogspot.com/2014/03/including-science-in-classical-education.html
ReplyDeleteI read your post and commented over there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the subject!
DeleteHave you read a book by Marcia Sommerville called Love the Journey?
ReplyDeleteNo, I've never heard of that book before. I looked and it doesn't seem to be on amazon. Have you read it?
DeleteMarcia's book is brand new. You'll find it if you're subscribed to TOG stuff. I've been migrating towards TOG since Barb at Harmony Arts Mom writes more about her experience with the Rhetoric Level.
DeleteOk thanks! I haven't gotten into TOG, but I have read great things about it from Barb and others!
DeleteAdmittedly I am a bit behind. I.must.take.more.baths. Yes...that is where I get to read.
ReplyDeleteOn my list to read:
Ten Ways to Destroy the Imagination of Your Child
The Liberal Arts Tradition (the newly released version/volume)
The Bludorns discuss how to blend a classical/Charlotte Mason education because they go together so well. Perhaps we can read something about a Charlotte Mason education. Her personal works might be a bit daunting but there are so many books out about it.
Tami,
DeleteThose are great suggestions! The two you mentioned are ones I would like to read too. I also wouldn't be opposed to doing a Charlotte Mason book. I think that would prove very interesting conversation.
I'm going to have to start thinking about what to pick next! Thanks for your input!
Have you read Mrs. Sally Clarkson's books?
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't. Do you recommend them? I've heard good things and they are highly rated on amazon(for whatever that's worth =)
