5 Days of The Classical Preschool

From June 10th -14th I will be sharing with you a series titled The Classical Preschool.  As I come to the end of this year, I realized that my oldest child will be 5 years old for the start of next year, which 'technically' puts him in kindergarten.  We have completed his preschool years and I have a feeling that what we did for preschool looks much different than what most people do.  I'm not at all trying to say that there is one right way to do preschool, but I would like to take the time to look back and summarize what we have done to help you if you are using the classical model of education and have preschoolers underfoot.

Here is what the week will look like:

Day 1 - Read Out Loud

Day 2 - Memorize

Day 3 - Manipulate

Day 4 - Narration

Day 5 - Explore

I hope you will come back and join us as we discuss what a classical preschool can look like!

  1. I am very interested in what a classical preschool looks like. I do imagine that it would be quite different from what I normally see in the preschool arena, and I am secretly hoping that it looks a bit like what I do. :o)

    1. Thanks for following along! I'm sure you are doing just great with your little ones =) You'll have to let me know if we do the same types of things for the preschool years.

  2. Hi Amy! I can't believe the timing on this one! I've been working on a post about our Preschooler's Notebook and will be posting it within the next couple of days! :) (Classical minds think alike! LOL!)

Love all that you do for the Classical Education community! So many thanks for your time investment!

    With blessings!

  5. Just came across this blog because I'm interested in what I can be doing with my three year old before we start anything more formal. We are going to be a classical homeschool family but neither my husband or I have any background in that. I know I have a lot of research and learning ahead. So I'm excited to read and follow this blog! Thank you! I really appreciated the preschool post!
