Greatest Picture Book Bracket - Round 1

This post contains affiliate links to the wonderful books that are a part of this bracket.

Alrighty friends, here we go!  It's time to vote on the first round of the Greatest Picture Book Bracket!

ANYONE can vote.  You do not have to have turned in a bracket.  For those of you who turned in a bracket, I suggest voting for the ones that you picked (well, if you want to increase your chances of winning anyways =)  If you still want to get in on the fun and have a chance to win a $35 amazon giftcard, you can still turn in a bracket, you just miss the points for the first round.

Also, you don't have to vote on every match up if you don't want.  Feel free to just name a few if that's all you have time for.

I have to say, this list is just plain the best picture books of all time! I love this 'bracket' idea, but it was really hard to choose winners, even in this first round.

I will shamelessly plug "Jamberry" #6 as one of the most wonderful books to start your child on the road to reading. My daughter and I read it numerous times a day at ages 2-3, she loved the rhythm and rhyme, and that Degen's illustrations lent themselves to extending the story!

Even with the love of Jamberry, I'll put in a strong recommendation for Duck on a Bike. I have NEVER met a preschooler who didn't adore this book, and I have to use it in my story times at LEAST twice a year.

Fabulous exercise, and I love each of these books. Thanks, Amy.

    1. Thank you so much! I'm glad you are participating! You know, I've never read Jamberry or Duck on a Bike. I'll have to look for them at the library next week. I got a lot of good suggestions from lots of readers, but still it was hard to pick which ones to include!
