Thanks for coming back to day two of our month of Scholé Everyday! If you missed the first post
which explains what's going on, take a minute to read it. Remember,
these are just going to be short posts with an idea to encourage you in
the way of restful learning.
I'm sure your school day is (almost) over today, so this idea is for you to do tomorrow. Do your kids ever get weary of following the schedule you have set for them each day?
Today my encouragement to you is to:
Do you have certain curriculum or activities that were started with good intentions, but because they weren't 'essential' they got pushed to the wayside? Personally, I can think of a few art and music things that my kids really enjoy, but we just don't get to them as often as my kids or I would like!
Why don't you plan to take an hour tomorrow and let your kids choose what they would like to do? Now the trick is, do not feel bad about this! Let yourself truly enjoy the time with your children, doing something that delights them. I promise you will find yourself refreshed and your kids will love it! Maybe consider carving time out for something like this an hour each week!
If you are purposing to incorporate scholé into your home this year, I'd love to hear from you! Share with me what you are doing or how these ideas have impacted your homeschool and I can compile your stories in to a post. I'd love to even have some guest bloggers if you'd like to write a whole post about how you are using scholé in your homeschool this year! Contact me and let me know how you are doing!
