Thanks for coming back to day six of our month of Scholé Everyday! If you missed the first post which explains what's going on, take a minute to read it. Remember, these are just going to be short posts with an idea to encourage you in the way of restful learning.
I would love to hear which of these scholé ideas you already had as part of your lifestyle before this series. I'm sure some of you are much farther along in the journey of restful learning than I am, and I could definitely learn from you! I hope that some of these ideas have been helpful to each of you, though!
Today my encouragement to you is to:
Turn off the TV - and have a Conversation
Will you pledge to take one evening this week and just sit and have a conversation with your husband? (Or someone else if that doesn't work in your situation). I know in my family, we are purposeful about not letting technology overtake us, but we still will often turn to it at the end of a long day. On any given night after the kids go to bed, you will usually find me at my computer working on blogging related things, and my husband sitting right next to me playing a sports video game. Honestly it is a nice way to unwind from the day, but I know that it also means that we are missing out on good conversation with one another (remember the kind of talking you used to be able to do before you had kids?)
Maybe you could get your Bible out and discuss a passage. Maybe you could each share something that you've been thinking about recently. Whatever works for you, just make it uninterrupted discussion about something true, good, or beautiful!
